I've had lots of jobs and my retirement situation is a mess. I have a TSP, 457B, 403B, 401A, 401K, traditional IRA, and a Roth IRA -- everything is super fragmented. Some of this money is tax-deferred and some isn't. They are mostly invested in practical index funds. I know the goal is to consolidate but I don't know the pros and cons of each account type, and I'm worried about doing something irreversible (like closing the TSP) if there may be future benefit. I can look some of this stuff up, but it is confusing, and I'm not sure what to even prioritize (e.g., early withdrawal fees, age of earliest/latest penalty-free withdrawal, etc.). I'm willing to consult a professional, but I don't even know what kind of professional to talk to who would know about this kind of stuff. Thoughts?
