Razor Blades are freaking expensive. I worked for a grocery store for two years in which I had to show up clean shaven every day. Naturally as a broke college student, I quickly realized how expensive razors are for such poor quality. My face was constantly dry and covered in razor burn.

I came across a video about shaving with a safety razor and using double edged blades. They claimed in the video that you get no razor burn, its much cheaper, and you get a much better shave. The only downside is the "learning curve" and that i was scared of cutting myself.

I went ahead and purchased a cheap handle (or whatever it's called) which came with a few blades. My first time using the safety razor was a little weird but to be honest its essentially the same as shaving before with a disposable. You just have to find the right angle. I never once felt in danger and rarely ever cut myself. After my first down stroke I pretty much immediately figured out how to use it. I Definitely cut myself much less than with a disposable. I get the smoothest shave every single time too.

Now for the best part...the cost. I paid maybe $16 for the actual handle and then bought my blades from amazon. At walmart or where ever you shop double edge razors are crazy expensive. $3 for five blades. On amazon I got 500 razor blades for $12. I will never run out (or at least for several years). So therefore for about $30 I will get the best shave possible for the next 4 years or so.

Your shave may take a little longer but not by much. Also each of those blades is good for a few shaves. I would say four at the most but you could easily stretch that longer. I have kept the same blade in for like two weeks before. If you're not a daily shaver like myself then this is even better.
