Hey DIY, long time lurker, first time poster. I have a dinner table from Nebraska Furniture Mart that looks pretty alright, but it turns out the surface is really not ideal for dining purposes. It's rough, it's got grooves in it that food gets stuck in, it's kind of a pain as far as eating surfaces go.Here it is: http://ift.tt/2uuD5EG was entertaining the idea of straight up coating the surface in polyurethane. I'd seem my dad use the stuff before.Would that be a mistake? Should I prep the surface somehow first? (Of course I'll clean it first.)Is there perhaps another way I could salvage this table?...should I just deal with it?Thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2v3z3QP
