This gets brought up here from time to time it seems, and I want to let you know up front that I've perused a lot of the prior discussions about sheets.

I'm at a loss for what to try/buy. I grew up not fond of percale sheets, at least, that seems to be all I ever had. Generic percale sheets. And especially in the winter, while I love bed and sleep, I hated the act of crawling into bed, because I would feel like I'm freezing for a few minutes until the sheets warmed up.

I bought a pair of sateen sheets (Kirkland 540TC) during the winter, and liked them enough for winter, especially compared to the percale I've always known. I thought they were a tad bit rough, and crisp, and they used to be wonderfully reviewed. Seems the supplier changed, it used to be praised as a Supima certified set, but the one I bought is Pima Cott certified. Definitely too warm for summer, and warmed up fine in the winter but I'll be trying a superior set of sateen sheets for the winter.

For now, while it's warm/hot, I want a lighter, cooler set. I love soft though, and have loved sheets in hotels that have felt cool but were very light and draped over you.

So I'm definitely looking for percale until it comes time to get a new set for winter.

I'm prepared to spend a bit for a nice luxury.

I've been considering the popular percale sets from the following:

  • LL Bean
  • Snowe
  • Parachute
  • The Company Store
  • Brooklinen
  • a few others that I can't remember now

Taking all recommendations. Y'all have the floor now. :)
