So I've recently been burned by PayPal and I'm hoping that this post will help others avoid that sneaky extra fee that they try to slip in: if you're trying to send money to family/friends, make sure that if the person is requesting, you request it as a "personal" fee and not a "goods" fee, because they'll charge you extra on that, and that you're using your bank account/your PayPal balance. It wasn't a large amount but it was an unnecessary expense that wasn't clearly dictated by PayPal's website.
