After years of college and applying, I've finally landed my dream job with great benefits and retirement pension! I am moving out of my family's house hopefully in a year or less (saving more money). I really hate sharing a space and I've had bad landlords in the past. I was browsing online when the Tiny House websites caught my attention. They're inexpensive ($12k-40k for the simple ones) since I'm building my credit back up I won't be approved for a house loan anytime soon with good rate. I am simple and have very little things to carry around, I don't want to have children and I love the outdoors. I've come to the realization that renting would be a better option than buying a house right away before getting established in the career or holding out until you find a different agency in the field that pays more etc.... but a tiny home can be moved around and all I'll need to do is rent the land, right? I am excited and love the houses I saw, or the converted school bus!

My question is, is this a good investment for someone who's alone and wants the privacy of her own place without owing anyone anything? If I ever decide to expand I can just rent it out and bring in income. How difficult is it to maintain one and would it be financially worth it? Any folks who own one care to chime in with your experiences? Thank you!
