Long story short my Dad passed along some brochures and stuff he got from his guy at Edward Jones that is in charge of his retirement account. He wanted me to meet with the guy and possibly get an IRA set up with him, but I'm wary of the fees.
There seems to be no annual flat charge or any other hidden fees other than the 1.35%. From what I've read on this sub, that seems on the high side. Would I be better off just opening one online on my own and investing it in a variety of ETF's and mutual funds? Is there an advantage to having someone manage an IRA for me? Also, any opinions on Edward Jones in general are welcome.
Thank you.
