I bought a money order two weeks ago to pay my rent with. I usually buy it at western union but was short on time so I bought it at the Kroger by me.

Yesterday I get a letter from my rental office saying it did not go through. They gave me a photocopy of the money order and threatened to charge me an extra $200 dollars because my rent was late.

I ended up throwing away the receipt and there wasn't a stub on it like the ones I get from western union. So all I have is the photocopy.

I plan on going up to Kroger to talk to a manager. I just wanted to know if I will be able to get my money back or not. I'm really confused at how this could even happen. Did the cashier at Kroger give me a blank money order and pocket the money?
