Some backstory: I'm 21 and this is my first year living year round in a different home and town than with my parents. Now, as a kid I always remember my mother keeping pretty much every pay stub and bill statement on file to prove they had been received/paid "in case something happened/the company didn't think so", but now that everything's digital, do I really need to do that?
I pay all of my bills online so the only papers I'm really getting are notifications of a bill coming due and for how much. Is it worth keeping stuff like that or old paystubs around? Is there any reason to? What do you guys do with financial documents and the like?
