As of 8:00 today I became debt free. I rang the people I'm paying my last debt to and made a final lump sum payment using the bonus I got at work. The lump payment was just over a years worth of monthly payments so I was able to clear the debt a lot sooner that I expected. It's been a crazy couple of years paying things back and trying to teach myself how to be financially smart (still working on that) but it feels amazing to pay off everything from my past and start a new. I now have 5 years or so until the debt is cleared from my credit rating but in those years I aim to work on every small thing I can to build it up again.
