We are having our floors refinished and unfortunately ended up with some workers who are less than knowledgeable due to hardwood floors not being very popular in our area, so we have ended up more or less DIYing it alongside them or directing them along the way. We have gotten the sanding job looking nice, but are stuck deciding what polyurethane to use and it doesn't help that the guy we're using doesn't have much prior experience. We need something as durable as possible for kids and pets, high traffic, etc. so we are looking at BonaTraffic. My question is, is it absolutely necessary to apply the BonaSeal prior to BonaTraffic, or is BonaTraffic fine to apply over minwax water based stain (given plenty of time to dry)? Is there any other polyurethane that would have similar durability but would maybe be easier for "beginners" to apply? Thanks in advance via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2tJLoJN
