I know Red Wings are supposed to be a buy it for life item, which is why I bought them after getting frustrated with the soles coming off cheap shoes so quickly (not worn through, coming off). So imagine my frustration when I notice this happening after just 7 months of wear. I should note I bought them second hand, however they had only been worn a couple times when I bought them, and looked brand new including the sole.
Now I promise I don't walk weird. I am tall though and a friend who is similar height showed me his shoes which had worn in a similar weird way. I have never really noticed this before but the dramatic speed at which this has happened, you can't miss it! I know replacing soles is expected eventually even with a robust boot like a Red Wing but I expected to get at least 3 - 5 years of use before having to get them resoled.
Here are pics of the wear. http://ift.tt/2tZ0VqF
As you can see they have worn on the back outside only and it's a bit worse on the right boot which is almost worn through. So what gives? I wear them daily but just for walking around and at work...Don't do anything unusual with them. Anybody had similar experience with Red Wing soles?
