I recently found v-neck merino sweaters on the GAP website on sale for 50% OFF. $60 regular price, $30 sale price. With the website promo code, there was an additional 20% off the sale price. However, the sweaters were marked as ALL SALES FINAL.
I thought it was a pretty good deal, so I pulled the trigger. The very next day, I received a promo code via email for an additional 50% OFF sale items, that was good for that day only. I tested the code on the sweaters by making a mock purchase and it worked. However, since my original purchase was ALL SALES FINAL, I wasn't able to cancel that order.
Not expecting much, I sent an email to GAP customer service, explaining my situation and if I could apply the code I received for 50% OFF and apply it to my original order. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they were able to make the price adjustment with no issue. I'm very satisfied with GAP's customer service and am much more pleased with my purchase.
I guess the moral of the story is that it doesn't hurt to ask for a price adjustment.
NOTE: I don't work for GAP and am not affiliated with them. I'm just very pleased to have unexpectedly saved a few bucks.
