Hey all, I'm moving out my parents' home and into a new apartment for grad school in a different city and state. I've never really furnished an apartment before, and I'm torn between using my family's Sam's Club Membership to buy household furniture, appliances, etc. online and having them delivered to my apartment OR using a free trial of Amazon Student Prime to buy furniture and appliances. Free 2-day shipping from Amazon is definitely awesome, but it only applies to some items that are marked as prime...and at first glance, Sam's Club has some lower pricing on furniture than Amazon. I guess I figured I might ask if anyone here has had an experience with picking furniture from a wholesale club like Sam's or Costco vs. Amazon before doing one-on-one comparisons of the pricing of every item I'm trying to buy (like a mattress for example) from Amazon without a shipping cost vs. the pricing of a mattress from Sam's Club with a shipping cost?
Anyone furnished an apartment with stuff from Sam's Club or Costco before? Or Amazon? What have been your experiences? From an expenses standpoint, would you typically have furniture delivered to your place or would you rent a truck to pick it all up at once?
