I was a Blunnie wearer for years. They wore like iron and looked cool. But my last pair fell apart sooner than expected. I wondered what was up, and upon inspection, found that they were made in Thailand and not Australia as before. While I can't say that this is the reason they didn't hold up, I was rather incensed at paying top-dollar for something that was no longer made in Australia.

So... after some searching, I ended up with a pair of Redback boots, which are similar in design and still Aussie-made. To me, they're actually even more comfortable and have more "spring" to them. My current pair is 5 years old and shows no signs of stopping - and I wear these every single day from about September through April. I even bought a second pair on sale, in case they ever discontinue them... but my first pair are still basically brand-new.

So, yeah, if you like the Blundstone style but aren't happy about where they're made these days, check out Redbacks.
