I save all my change from cash purchases in a large jar and recently took it to the bank to count and deposit, however, the banker told me that there was a convenience charge for using their coin sorter. I can't remember what amount it was, but it seemed stupid for them to charge me to count my money so I declined. I've heard of Coinstar machines, but I'm assuming they also charge a fee. Any advice on where I can take a bunch of change to get counted without getting charged? Or is my best bet to get coin wrappers and count it myself before depositing? Thanks in advance; I'm new to this "cash instead of plastic" thing.
