I'd like to build some theoretical portfolios that use industry and market cap as differentiators.
I have the following ETFs which (don't quite) correlate to the 10 major economic sectors:
XLE Energy Select Sector ETF
XLF Financial Select Sector ETF
XLI Industrial Select Sector ETF
XLB Materials Select Sector ETF
XLK Technology Select Sector ETF
XLY Consumer Discretionary Select Sector ETF
XLP Consumer Staples Select Sector ETF
XLU Utilities Select Sector ETF
XLV Health Care Select Sector ETF
I'm wondering if anyone knows of ETFs that further break down the sectors by size
eg, hypothtetically:
XLES Energy Select Sector ETF
XLEM Energy Select Sector ETF
XLEL Energy Select Sector ETF
It seems like these would be easily implemented by constructing ETFs that hold a subset of the above ETFs, segmented by market cap. It seems like this would be fairly valuable in portfolio construction as well.
