I'm interested in buying an engagement diamond ring for my future fiancé and would greatly appreciate any kind of input. I just started scouting ahead (planning to propose August 2018) and I'm looking at Costco and other "bulk" retailers that carry some legitimacy.
I live in California (7.25% sales tax county) and am willing to consider going to Oregon or Nevada for vacation and just buying it there while I'm already there because of the lower sales tax. My budget is $3k and I'm looking for ~1.0CT single diamond.
