We trusted a contractor to do the work for us. Gave them 20k for labor and materials. It was an hour a way so we relied on his reports that things are progressing. After a couple of months, we found out the only thing he did was to do the demo and nothing else. Materials wasnt even bought. He was supposed to fix some rooms and bathroom. So we have a unlivable house and 20k less money in pocket. We fucked up basically. All our fault admittedly. The guy even stopped answering the phone. Now what can we do from here on?
