I recently re-balanced my 529 accounts from an active based portfolio to a passive age based portfolio to save on fees but I forgot to change the automatic monthly contribution to the new passive fund. The mistake caused the automatic monthly investing to just not happen. I see no evidence of any warning or message indicating the issue nor did any money come out of my bank account.
Is this my fault? Should I have foreseen this? Why didn't I get an investment in an active fund while my balance was held in the passive fund?
Lastly, Is there a recommended 529 account provider with a decent online presence where the website is worth a damn?
