I've been using YNAB since getting some good advice from fellow redditors a few months back and it's making a massive difference. I'm already well on track to pay for everything Christmas related, I'm putting aside a portion each month so I can pay for my car tax and insurance up front (instead of putting these things on cc and paying them off afterwards!) and more.
For the month ahead my goal is to not use any of my discretionary cash beyond hard commitments. I've got my husbands birthday and a festival (at which I don't buy stuff but I will put some beer and food money aside on top of the usual food budget).
I'm hoping that there will only be 6 transactions on my account over the whole month. Anyone else doing no spending challenges?
N.B. My set up is that all the house and food stuff comes out of a joint account, which is why I think it can be as low as 6 on my personal account.
