I have a few items that I am considering stocking up on because they come on sale for good prices at my local Kroger. These are staples in my house. Are there any pitfalls I'm not seeing by stocking up on some of these? Mainly I'm worried about the freshness diminishing over time even if it's within the expiration date.
Considering stocking up for 6 to 9 months:
- Kashi cereal
- Dark chocolate
- Green/black tea bags (Lipton or similar)
- Canned coffee (Cafe du Monde or similar)
- Ice cream
- Butter (Kerrygold)
Stocking up for 2 to 3 weeks:
- Cottage cheese
- Greek yogurt
- Eggs
- Organic milk
I usually just buy what I need so I'm not used to stocking up. I would hate to buy several at a time and then find out it was a terrible idea.
