I am looking to begin investing by establishing monthly or quarterly automated contributions. My aim is to have two-tiered investment plan. The first is long term, potentially spanning decades. For this portfolio, I am looking at something along the following lines:

85-90% stock. All tracker funds.

·         35% European

·         35% US

·         30% Asia and Developing

10-15% bonds.

For the second, I would like to start investing monthly into a money market fund with the intention of using it as an alternative to a bank savings account.

I am currently a bit unsure of how to proceed. Essentially my current challenges are as follows:

1.    How to best follow the outlined plan but in Germany. Does anyone know of a means to invest in index funds/ETFs from Germany? (If I was living in the US I would probably have gone for something offered by Vanguard.) Are there similar funds which can be accessed from here?

2.    My expectation is for very low fees due to the type of funds (not actively managed) and if a third party is required to purchase, I would most likely use some form of online/robot broker in keeping with the aim of reducing costs. Any advice on this front would be much appreciated!

3.    I have been looking at some of the current online products such asCashboard. Does anyone have experience using them. Does it sound like they would be a good fit considering my goals? Anything to be wary of?

4.    I am also a bit ignorant when it comes to tax law. One concern is that I might not be living in Germany for ever. If I were to move back to Ireland, for example, is there any risk of a kind of double taxation? If so, are there means of mitigating this?

5.    I have no idea how to access a money market fund in Germany. In fact, I am struggling to find any examples. Perhaps someone could point me in the right direction here?

Many thanks in advance guys for any advice! let me know if I have overlooked anything as well.
