Original post

So for the update. It's been a little over 3 weeks since this has happened. I finally spoke with a supervisor that took me seriously and escelated it to the highest tier.

They got back to me and told me I need to contact Vanilla. Again, I had to tell them I can't because I don't have the card number. I received the transaction number on Google Wallet's end to give to Vanilla. Vanilla said they still can't help me because I don't have the card number.

I found out the person who gave me this gift card paid in cash so it cannot be looked up by Walmart. We spent hours with Walmart trying to look it up... It was 2 years ago so it was difficult trying to remember the exact day it was purchased and the exact amount.

I heard back from Google 2 days ago saying that the 1 version of gift card I have is, in fact, relodable. All others are not. Not sure why. Google confirmed Vanilla accepted the money. I have tried to do a transaction using this card since it is still on my account, and it just says "authorization failure." Google Wallet is showing there is no other information.

So I guess the Wallet team is contacting Vanilla now. I have been handed off to multiple specialists and I have to explain the situation over and over again. It is getting frustrating, but it appears it might be getting somewhere. Thought I would update since I had 3 people already message me and ask if it's been resolved since the same thing happened to them.
