I'm doing my first bathroom demo for my home in FL, and the part I've been dreading is here: the shower pan. I know how important it is to get this right. The existing shower pan is still in good shape, and the shower never had issues with pooling water and such. I'm generally pretty handy, I've built decks, sheds, etc.. but no bathroom / kitchens yet. So I need some hand-holding! Every tutorial online shows a much different configuration than mine, so I'm in uncharted territory it seems.Pics http://ift.tt/2rcQZdr I saveHow do I seal it correctly? There will be concrete boards going down into the gap around the shower. Should I seal before or after install of those boards? If so, what product would work best? The large moat area where the 2x4 was, I'm assuming I can just fill that with concrete and make it part of the edge of the shower pan?If I demoCan I demo with a chipping hammer / or small sledge hammer or is this a rental situation?Should I rebuild in the same manner? (e.g. leave a gap between the concrete block and the shower pan for the hardy board?I want to do it right, but I'd like to keep it as simple as possible. Thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2rXxkLx
