New to sub, this may be something well known. There are about 900 Restores and mine happens to be quite stocked. The great tools go fast but mine carries bulk nails for 75c/lb and threaded for $1.50/lb. I got half a small bag of washers and nails for 40c. They have a lot of windows, doors, trim, light fixtures, tile and great paint. They only take viable items so it isn't full of garbage. I volunteered for months and can tell you how loyal DIY customers are. I learned how to refinish the furniture to sell, tile, wire a light fixture as well as so many great ideas from customers on DIY ideas. Now as I watch Netflix I refresh the free ads on Craigslist and in 3 months I got a great crib, two Broyhill headboards, toy chest, desk, a hand carved wall hanging, a 3 foot clock with tooled leather and steamer trunk for free. With dirt cheap supplies and this knowledge I am not afraid to take on projects and make them beautiful again. For all of these projects it was about $10 in primer, paint, sand paper. $10 in onlays/millwork to add to the crib to recreate a $600 crib online. If you have one close cruise on over before going to the hardware or furniture store or even if you just need to replace part of a chain link fence or build a chicken coop. It also goes to charity! I can vouch most employees are volunteers that are very helpful. Again, they vary. The one in the next town has less construction supplies and more furniture.
