I got some red wings work boots, the goretex waterproof kind, and they've been giving me nothing but problems.
For one, they don't seem to breathe. Every day I feel a dampness on my feet, particularly the left foot, and whenever I put my hand in the boot to check if the waterproofing has gone bad there's a distinct wetness especially above the toe.
For two part of the leather is absorbing water and takes centuries to dry. Whatever kind of water repellent finish they put on at the factory has failed on the bottom side of the right boot. I assumed it had been scratched off, dried it, put tuff toe on it, and the tuff toe just fell off. I tried using the redwings smear on anti rip... Stuff and it didn't worm. I tried using a waterproof rub on gel and it didn't work.
What's going on here and what can I do?
