I checked all the Emergency radio threads and the suggestions were either garbage or spend crazy amounts of money on HAM radio licensing and equipment. The features in the title are my bare minimum requirements, I live in a cargo container in Hawaii and Hurricane season is right around the corner. In checking our equipment for the coming season I found that our emergency radio gave out. It was our third one in 8 years, not bad but not great either. The Radio MUST have external antenna port, AM/FM/NOAA, AC and battery power. My biggest problem has been finding a quality model with those features, basically if it comes with an antenna then it doesn't have AM/FM. Or it has the AM/FM/NOAA bands and the antenna but no battery power option. I've only found one brand that fits the criteria but I'm not familiar with the brand and everyone knows that Amazon reviews are sketchy at best. Its driving me crazy, the year Izel hit we were out of power for more than a week. Our emergency radio saved our sanity but it couldn't have done so with out battery power.
So any suggestions?
