Please be nice. I love this sub.
Hello and good evening. My name is Wes and for the last four years I have bought and sold restaurant, hotel and hospitality businesses here in Mexico. Over the years I have realized there are massive trust issues when people are going through the decision making process and as a fan of disruptive business I came up with a way to get other people's money for projects which required investment or purchase. Mostly it was friends in the beginning and now it's friends of friends. I also do some local networking which helps with leads and that also works well as I end up doing some consulting.
In a few months I am getting married. I am also planning a child. I'd like to do what I do on a serious level. I really want to help people be successful in Mexico with their money and be paid for a good job. I currently own 3 small hotels across Mexico. The sale of these will contribute to the office I plan to set up and a learning website I hope to build where possible investors can learn about real life in Mexico. From there I will build over time a following of keen possible investors. With some aggressive conversion tools. I want to let people know the truth from my experience. My losses and wins. Dealing with corruption. Cultural differences and teething problems. It's really tough sometimes and that is mostly because of the relationship you have is not genuine enough.
That said. That's kinda my plan.
My problem is. When I start to research the English speaking market for handling small investment in Mexico. I cannot find anything. Actually. Nothing. So not only are possible investors stuck with business blogs from US based media companies. There is actually no real presence.
1-So how do I understand my competitors? Assess them and do SWAT?
2-does anyone have any advice on how I can set my self up legally? Currently I work with a lawyer and a very strong accountant. These guys go through everything I do. With a fine comb.
3-why am I finding nothing ? Of course there are a ton of real estate companies. A lot of whom contribute nothing online in terms of educating decision makers
4-any tips or advice about someone starting out. I didn't do so well at school and I was homeless from the age of 14. So my learning now is usually all PDF based and heavy reading if I am enjoying the process. Small office. Strong website dedicated to my client personas and a very transparent buying or investment process with lawyers, accountants and specialists if required to back up and assist with real time and legitimate information.
