I have time to get a vision test and my first pair of glasses today. I just want the cheapest exam + glasses, and it looks like these two companies have the same offer of "$70 for an eye exam and two pairs of glasses."
However, the comments in this sub are not consistent. I've found half a dozen posts singing praise about America's Best, and just as much against. Some people say it truly only costs $70, while others say that $70 only gets you frames and not the lenses AND you have to pay a fee for them to write down your prescription and PD.
So can someone with experience clarify: If I just want the cheapest combo package so I can try out some corrective lenses, does $70 get me two glasses and a written prescription, or is it a scam?
