If a monthly scheduled renewal for Spotify Premium fails, Spotify will notify you that there is an issue with your payment method and ask that you update your credentials. When this occurs, Spotify Premium benefits are not be promptly disabled; all functionality and features remain available for at least two weeks following a missed payment (possibly more, I've never counted).

If you register for Premium using a card or Paypal account which you can intentionally keep at a flat balance when your monthly renewal rolls around, you could potentially coast on these grace periods to make each subscription payment worth effectively 50% more - each renewal will net you 6 weeks of Premium per $10 renewal, compared to the typical 4.

Instead of paying the full $120 for a year of Premium, you can score the very same conveniences for $80 instead. I love Spotify and gladly pay for the incredible product they offer; that said, this trick has helped keep my earbuds bumping even when my wallet is thin.
