I'm an immigrant in the US (Green card holder) and looking into colleges. I've been reading and reading about financial aid and student loans but it seems there's no end to the information and having no one experienced to explain it to me doesn't help.
My main question is: I know that financial aid depends on the income of my parents, but my parents live outside of the US. what effect does this have on financial aid? does their income still matter?
I'm also married, does this have any effect on eligibility for financial aid?
