Last night my phone rings, I pick up, and some guy starts telling me about how he represents a charity (police officer's association, I think), explains the wonderful work that they do, then asks if he can count on my support.
Well, I was mildly annoyed at the interruption and replied "Excuse me?" He launched into the same spiel again, ending again with "Can I count on you for your support?
This time the last word was garbled, so I said "Can you repeat that last bit again?" and got the same stuff, same words, from the top. Clearly this was a robo-call, and I'm guessing that he wanted me to say "yes" so that he could start billing me for some crap I don't want. Anyhow, I hung up.
Watch out, the scumbags are masquerading as charities now.
