Need help. My boss told me he put in his notice this morning and I will have his position for the interim with a high probability of getting the position

My question is should I expect a increase during the interim period? Also, if I do get the position I would eliminate my position and handle all responsibilities. If it comes down to an offer can I use this to negotiate a higher salary?
