Background info: She has emphysema and COPD. She's on oxygen and doesn't leave the house. Part of it is she doesn't want to be seen in her condition, I also think that she perceives her situation to be worse than it is. She's basically given up.
She has 2 mortgages on her house along with her other bills but only gets money from disability which isn't enough.
She does have a ton of stuff in her house that she can sell and I've tried to no avail to convince her to go through some of it and have a yard sale but I just get excuses for her not to. She has an unhealthy attachment to these physical objects, not all of which are keepsakes or things one would normally not consider selling I'm talking about mass amounts of clothing that most still have the tags on. She's kind of a hoarder but not tv worthy if that makes sense.
I don't know how else to help her, I think she's just waiting for it all to come crashing down and then deal with the cards she'll be dealt when she runs out of money. I usually send her some money, but I am not in the best financial situation right now myself so me giving her money isn't an option right now. Even if I could I can't support her and myself; I'm a 32 year old guy that's still trying to make it.
