I bought an item in a luxury brand store (Gucci) located inside a department store. My receipt is from the department store and the return policy states:
- Within 30 days, a full refund issued
- After 30 days, refund issued based on the current price of the item
This is printed on the back of my receipt multiple times.
When I tried to return the item after 30 days, they said they do not follow the same return policy as the department store and will not accept returns after 30 days. I pointed to the text printed on my receipt that says "items returned after 30 days will be refunded based on the current price" (item price hasn't changed). Manager still said no.
I paid with a visa infinite card (chase sapphire reserve). My card covers returns after the deadline up to $500, but that is far below the price of the item. And I didn't miss the deadline. They aren't honoring what's printed on my receipt. What should I do?
