Lately I've been having discussions with people who all feel that holding real estate investments that they rent out are more advantageous to putting that money into an index fund. Most seem completely turned off from stock market based investments. I'm guessing maybe because one is tangible and the other isn't?
My question is, assuming you had to choose one or the other, would index fund based investing be more worthwhile than running and dealing with rental properties?
