Brand new homeowner newbie here looking to build these shelves. Looks like a great way to get started on doing home improvement stuff. It's along a 20 foot garage wall. I figure on building maybe 5 shelves out of half inch plywood and 2x4's. The purpose of the shelves will be to hold plastic storage totes, nothing terribly heavy. Christmas decorations, photo albums, those creepy dolls my wife has, normal stuff. The wood has been sitting in my garage waiting for a day off and man I really like the color of it against the white drywall of my garage. Really looks nice. Is there an easy way to make sure they don't get dingy or absorb random spills over time? I'm looking at potentially 100 linear feet of 16 inch deep shelves so it can't be too labor intensive. Something painted on maybe? Is that a thing?Much appreciated. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2sC8m7j
