So I'm trading on E-Trade (can't do Robin Hood, because I'm investing thru my IRA) and there's a $6.95 charge per transaction. Is there a "recommended $ amount" on how much $ to trade per transaction then? Because if I just buy 10 shares for $10 each, that's already eating at 7% of my potential earnings...?
EDIT: I already have Vanguard / ETFs. I'm asking for stocks, what's a wise amount per transaction to trade at if we want to do dollar cost averaging? (obviously this depends on how much money you have, but let's say you're dealing with minimums)
