We're moving into a different house in August and the house has a large (about 4-5 foot high) crawl space with an earth floor and cinder block walls. The previous owners have installed a vapor barrier and are storing items down by placing items directly on the vapor barrier. Most of the articles I've read don't mention any issues with doing that, but I'm concerned about puncturing the vapor barrier. What are some things I can do to make the space more functional? Can I place plywood on the barrier to support larger items? Can we put something like a chest freezer down there? Can I dig down to make the space a little taller? What sort of maintenance needs to be performed on the vapor barrier? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2sY1Yoa
