I'm remodeling my (1950's era) bathroom, which has a hollow core wooden door. I removed the door and painted just the side of the door that faces into the bathroom. I didn't paint the other side (which faces the hall), nor did I paint the rails of the door. I also didn't paint the door frame. The only thing I painted was the portion of the door that you'd see if you were in the bathroom and the door was closed. Now, the door doesn't fit in the doorframe left to right, and it doesn't fit by a large amount - close to 1/8". I'm assuming that the door swelled when I painted it, which is why it doesn't fit. Is that a reasonable guess? If so, how do I fix the problem? I have a pretty good table saw and can rip the door to width, but I'm concerned about ripping the door on the side that has the handle, since I'm afraid that the throat for the door handle would be too short. I'd rip the side with the hinges, but I'd probably have to redo the mortises, and I've never done that work before, so I'm afraid of screwing it up.Thoughts? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2rYZTHX
