I'm working on renovating a rental property I recently purchased. I am pretty new at this but am enjoying the challenge. The house had carpet in the rooms and living area and linoleum in the kitchen, bathroom and entry. The linoleum is glued to a particle board looking material which is heavily nailed to the floor. I have tried to remove the board in the entryway to get to the subfloor and it was pretty difficult. I would prefer to not remove the rest of this in the kitchen and bathroom, leaving me concerned about the height differences for the two transitions. I do not want to create a tripping hazard. I plan on laying vinyl plank throughout but may change styles at the kitchen transition. Here's a picture. Any strategies or anyone experienced in dealing with this.EDIT: Thanks for the help guys. I think I may have solved my issue by figuring out how to remove the underlaying floor. Here's a link in case anyone else has the same issue. Happy DIYing via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2rDAENm
