Pics (Sorry for crappy MS. I don't have a camera to take pictures)The ProblemFor some time my mother has been using 2 steel tables (like this) next to each other as a base for her gas stove (similar to this)She put a wooden top over the tables, but over time the heat from the stove burned the wood.I've thought of 2 solutionsI wanted to fill the tables with cement (as pictured) but i'm not sure if it's a good idea. Should I make the cement base ceparetly and just put it inside the tables? (i'm not sure if it's clear from the drawings, but the tables have 'hollow' tops.)Put some other heat resistant material on top. This would be much easier but i have no idea what i could use.Essentially i want something to put on top of the steel tables to 'absorb' the head of the stove.I thought of just coating it with head resistant paint, but i'm afraid it would just get too hot with use.So, what is your advice? I'm a total novice, so the simpler the solution, the better.Thank you for your time.PS : Sorry for any mistakes and the drawings. I'll try to get some pictures in case they too confusing via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2tsOPDZ
