Hello everyone. I broke down my budget and left more than enough for paying student loans, helping my parents, 401k, all the important stuff.
Salary: slightly over 70,000
When it comes to apartments, I narrowed it down to two during my apartment hunting in person (Scottsdale, AZ).
OPTION 1:
1095 base rent, 75 for water sewage trash, and electricity is handled by a different company and it ranges between 80-120 during summer because of the AC. Comes with a parking garage, complex is beautiful and brand new, and it is gated and just 2 miles away from work.
OPTION 2:
975 base rent, 95 for water sewage trash gas AND electricity (flat rate for everything!). However, it is not gated, the patio is not closed off so anybody can sneak into my patio, the complex is nice but older, and the reviews on Yelp are pretty bad. Also, 4 miles away from work which is still pretty good.
What do you guys think? I'm going to be living alone away from everyone I have ever known, including my girlfriend, so I'm trying to make sure I find a comfortable place to live. One is financially better, the other is comfortably better.
