After only a few months of use, I've broken a couple pairs of the flat laces that come with Beckmans and some other Red Wing shoes. I wouldn't bother with them at all anymore. But their leather ones and round ones seem to be much better, so ask for those instead if you're buying in a store.

Comments in the thread vouch for them, and they're holding up for the first few months for me. But they're also a few inches longer than the Red Wings, which is making them perfect so far.
