Hello, Reddit! So, I'm 19 years old, and I've got about $3k saved up. I'd like to move into my own place, but the average cost of an apartment in my area (Near Ft. Benning) is around $700 if I want to live in a decent area. That doesn't include utilities and such.
My parents are asking $400/month, and to be honest, while I don't blame them for asking me for money, I don't think that $400/month for a place that isn't completely mine is worth it.
At the moment, I'm not working. I don't plan on moving out until I get another solid job, but I do still want to make plans.
How much should I have saved? What is the best way to go about getting an apartment?
To be honest, I'm just looking for general advice.
