Does anyone know of a website that would show, given a stock symbol, the entire genealogy of that stock up to now? What I am looking for is any mergers, acquisitions, spinoffs, and other events that would be worth knowing. If someone owned a stock from a single company from the 1950s or so, is there a way to know what other stock ownership arose from that by spinoffs, reverse mergers, etc.?
I am an executor of a will and trying to track down possible investments that might be out there, given that I know one major stock that was owned by the deceased. And financial records are not entirely complete.
