I was always hesitant to leave my expensive cell phone plan. Looking back, it seems so stupid. I guess I was hesitant because it can create more headaches switching again if things don't go as expected. But I knew I needed to do it. It would be the biggest frugal win for me. Over the last 10 years, I must have spent more than $10,000 on my particular cell phone package. My God. Sounds ridiculous saying that out loud.
I have already eliminated all excess monthly fixed bills or subscriptions. No more Hulu, Netflix, gym, etc. At this point, I would have needed to be perfect in all expenditures (mess with heavy duty hot water heater to lower temperature, meal plan meticulously, safeguard ALL the pennies) or make more money to increase the gap between expenses and excess meant to service my financial goals.
This one change was the big, low hanging fruit. Thanks, r/frugal for sharing your experiences and encouraging me to make the leap!
Thank you!
