I had Lasik done two years ago. I know it isn't medically necessary but I really needed to do something since my contacts were creating issues with blood vessels in my eye and glasses were a pain. I went somewhere that offered finance free monthly payments for 24 months through a third party credit company. I was making payments and life got in the way as it always does. I never missed any payments but I went closer to the minimum than what I should have been paying. As it turns out, now that the 24 months have expired I've been hit with a massive interest charge that just makes my stomach turn. My balance as of last month was $1600 and now it's like $3200. I called and they just told me there's nothing to do. I guess I just owe basically the entire balance all over again. I know I'll get through it as these things happen but it's quite crippling at the moment. Any advice or words to cheer up? I appreciate it.
