Hi guys, I'm in the process of removing a ~10ft portion of a ~14ft interior wall (between kitchen/living), I've got it almost down to the studs. Now when I bought the house, the wall between the living/dining was already removed. To match the way they made that beam (dropping a about 2.5 inches below the crown molding), I will need to cut out the top plate of the kitchen/living stud wall.In intend to sandwich (2) 7.25" LVL beams to span the length (along with utilizing a king stud and two jack studs). But to fit them into the space, I'll need to cut out the 2x4 top plate, it's (4) 2x4's stacked on top of each other.I've got a cats paw/nail puller to be able to remove the nail, the challenge to me is getting the 2x4's cut out of there once I've got the nails out, the ceiling in the kitchen comes down pretty much as far as these 2x4's. So a circular saw, sawzall are pretty much out of the question. Any recommendations as to the right cutting tool for the job? Here's a link to a picture: http://ift.tt/2r9LWKV: perhaps a simple saw such as this one:http://ift.tt/2rU8Ti3 a hole big enough and start sawing? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2t2aa67
